Coal Ministry commences monetisation process for BCCL’s Dugda Coal Washery

The Ministry of Coal has initiated the monetisation process for Bharat Coking Coal Limited’s (BCCL) Dugda Coal Washery, aiming to maximise India’s coal sector potential.

Through a transparent competitive auction, a 2 million tonnes per annum capacity of the washery will be awarded to a potential steel manufacturer. The successful bidder will be responsible for designing, building, renovating, operating, maintaining, and transferring the washery. The monetisation of BCCL’s Dugda Coal Washery is expected to enhance the nation’s steel production capacity by revolutionising the coking coal sector. This initiative is poised to streamline operations, optimise resource utilisation, and drive innovation in coal beneficiation techniques, thereby strengthening BCCL’s position in the Indian coal sector.
