Vietnam’s EVNNPT energises 220 kV Pho Cao substation and lines

State-owned Electricity of Vietnam’s (EVN) subsidiary, National Power Transmission Corporation’s (EVNNPT) Northern Power Projects Management Board has energised the two autotransformers under the 220 kV Pho Cao substation and connection lines project in Vu Duong village, Hong Quang commune, An Thi district, Hung Yen province.

EVNNPT is investing in the project, while NPMB is managing it on behalf of the investor. Power Transmission Company 1 will take over the operation once the entire project is commissioned. The project involved the construction of a 220/110/22 kV substation with an installed capacity of 2×250 MVA. In the recent phase, the two transformers were installed. The project also involved the construction of a 220 kV connection line with four circuits of about 93 metres in length, connecting the Pho Cao substation to the existing 220 kV Thai Binh–Kim Dong line, as well as the construction of a 35 kV single-circuit line of about 264 metres to supply self-use power to the station.
