Sri Lanka has signed 20-year wind power agreement with Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) for two wind power stations.

As per the agreement, AGEL will be paid Rs 8.26 per kWh for the wind energy project. The Sri Lankan Cabinet has formed a negotiation committee to assess the project proposal submitted by AGEL. The company had previously secured approval in February 2023 to invest $442 million in developing 484 MW of wind power plants in Mannar town and Pooneryn village, both situated in Sri Lanka’s Northern province.
