UERC notifies draft UERC (Tariff and Other Terms for Supply of Electricity from Renewable Energy Sources and non-fossil fuel based Cogenerating Stations) (First Amendment) Regulations, 2024

The Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission (UERC) has notified draft UERC (Tariff and Other Terms for Supply of Electricity from Renewable Energy Sources and non-fossil fuel based Cogenerating Stations) (First Amendment) Regulations, 2024.

The proposed changes seek to revise segregated renewable purchase obligation (RPO) and specify timelines for feasibility reports and grid-interactive rooftop and small solar plant installations. The state commission’s proposal follows the Ministry of Power’s recent amendment of RPO targets. Under the proposed regulations, obligated entities in Uttarakhand must adhere to revised RPO targets, which include separate goals for distributed renewable energy. The draft norms encompass various RPO categories such as wind, hydro, distributed, and others.
