The Ministry of Coal promotes the effective disposal of fly ash through innovative research and development. This initiative has led to the utilisation of fly ash for filling voids and as a component in construction materials, significantly reducing its environmental footprint and supporting sustainable development. Further, the Ministry of Coal has allocated mine voids specifically for this purpose. A central level working group was established in 2023 to oversee this initiative.
