NHPC Renewable Energy Limited (NHPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NHPC Limited, and Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) have entered into a partnership to implement rooftop solar projects atop the government buildings of central ministries, states and union territories. This initiative is part of the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, which aims to achieve 100 per cent solarisation of government-owned buildings by December 2025. This collaborative effort will promote a cleaner and greener tomorrow, by utilising the available rooftop space on government buildings. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has designated NHPC as the implementing partner to execute the projects, which will be implemented through its wholly owned subsidiary, NHPC REL. TPREL will bring its vast expertise to ensure the timely and efficient implementation of these projects.
