Japan-based Sumitomo Corporation has announced plans to supply power for a smart city it is developing in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The company has partnered with BRG Group and plans to use solar and biomass power generation facilities from a nearby industrial park to cover 30-40 per cent of the electricity needs for both the smart city and the industrial park. Construction of the smart city is scheduled to begin in 2025, with residents expected to move in gradually from 2026.
