THDC India Limited (THDCIL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government for harnessing energy from six pumped storage projects (PSPs) in Maharashtra.
The PSPs have a capacity of 6,790 MW and will require an investment of Rs 336 billion. The objective of the MoU is to help the developers in conducting surveys, investigations, and preparing detailed project reports. It will also facilitate the projects to be completed in a timely manner. The state government will help THDC to obtain clearances and approvals in a timely manner. The six planned projects under the MoU include the Malshej Ghat PSP (700 MW), the Aruna PSP (1,950 MW), the Kharari PSP (1,250 MW), the Humbarli Birmani PSP (1,000 MW), the Aruna Kolamb PSP (1,200 MW), and the Morawadi Majarewadi PSP (690 MW).
