Oriana Power Limited’s subsidiary TrueRE Surya Private Limited has bagged a contract from Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, (DBCL) to build and operate a 128 MW ground-mounted solar power plant in Tamil Nadu.
The project is being constructed under the open access captive solar segment and is estimated to cost Rs 5.2 billon. It is expected to generate 192 million units of electricity once functional and is expected to be commissioned within 12 months. Additionally, DBCL will acquire 26 per cent of equity share capital of TrueRE Surya for Rs 448 million.
