Reportedly, Kerala State Electricity Board Limited (KSEB) has signed an agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) to expand solar energy in Kerala.
The agreement aims to lower power purchase costs by at least 10 per cent. Under this agreement, KSEBL will buy 500 MW of solar power from SECI at a rate of Rs 3.49 per unit. The power supply agreement is expected to begin by September 2026 and will last for 25 years. The agreement also includes provisions for supplying power during peak-demand hours after 6 pm.
