Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has secured several grid orders to expand and strengthen electricity grids at high voltage levels in the Middle East.
In Saudi Arabia, the company is interconnecting regions of the national electricity network through high voltage direct current (HVDC) links. L&T will establish ±500 kV HVDC transmission links and has received orders for two 380 kV overhead transmission lines and a 380 kV gas-insulated substation. In addition, L&T has been awarded a contract to build two 400 kV gas-insulated substations in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The contract also includes civil work, series current limiting reactors, auto transformers, and systems for control and monitoring, enhancing the power transfer capacity of the grid.
