Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has notified draft CEA (Procedure for Transaction of Business) ( first Amendment) Regulations, 2024.
The amendment aims to update the existing rules from 2006 regarding how the CEA conducts its business. The new regulations will come into effect once published in the official gazette. A significant change includes a revision to Regulation 12(1) of the 2006 regulations. As per the draft, the quorum for the meeting shall be half of appointed members (including chairperson), with minimum of three members. If any fraction that might arise, then the upper number shall be considered. If the chairperson is unable to attend the meeting for any reason, the members present shall choose one from among the full time members to preside over the meeting.
