Powergrid acquires two SPV’s from PFC Consulting and RECPDCL

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Powergrid) has acquired two project specific special purpose vehicles (SPV), South Olpad Transmission Limited for Rs 188.4 million from PFC Consulting Limited and Rajasthan IV H1 Power Transmission Limited from REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL)

South Olpad Transmission will focus on establishing a transmission system to evacuate power from the renewable energy zone in the Khavda area of Gujarat under Phase-IV (7GW), Part B. It includes the development of a 765/400/220 kV (gas insulated substation) substation near Olpad, along with 765 kV and 400 kV double circuit transmission lines and bay extension work at existing substations in Gujarat. The acquisition was done on a build, own, operate, and transfer basis. (BOOT)

Rajasthan IV H1 Power Transmission Limited will focus on the “Transmission System for evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Phase IV (Part 2: 5.5 GW) (Jaisalmer/Barmer Complex): Part H1.” This project involves establishing a new 765/400/220 kV substation at Kurawar, along with 765 kV and 400 kV double circuit transmission lines and bay extension work at substations in Madhya Pradesh. The acquisition was also completed on a BOOT basis.
