Tata Power receives LoI for acquisition of SPV from RECPDCL

Tata Power Limited has received a letter of intent (LoI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a subsidiary of REC Limited, to acquire special purpose vehicle (SPV), ERES-XXXIX Power Transmission Limited (ERES-XXXIX).

The project will be developed on a build-own-operate-transfer basis and will provide transmission services for 35 years from the scheduled date of commercial operation on December 31, 2027.

The project involves constructing a 2×1500 MVA, 765/400 kV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) substation at Gopalpur, with connection points at Angul and Gopalpur. It will include about 190 km of 765 kV double circuit transmission line from the existing Angul substation to the new Gopalpur substation, and approximately 12 km of 400 kV line from the upcoming Gopalpur substation to the new GIS substation at Gopalpur. The annual transmission charges would be Rs 2.9 billion.
