Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Powergrid) has been declared the successful bidder under a tariff-based competitive bidding process for two inter-state transmission system (ISTS) projects for the transmission system for evacuation of power from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Phase IV. Both projects, Part A and Part B, will be developed on a build, own, operate, and transfer basis (BOOT).
The part A project involves establishing a new 765/400/220 kV Bikaner IV pooling substation, along with STATCOM and other equipment. It also includes the construction of a 765 kV double circuit (D/C) transmission line traversing through Rajasthan and Haryana, as well as several 400 kV D/C transmission lines across Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana, along with bays extension works at existing substations in Haryana and Punjab. The part B project focuses on establishing a new 765/400 kV Siwani substation, also equipped with STATCOM. This project entails the construction of a 765 kV D/C transmission line spanning Rajasthan and Haryana and multiple 400 kV D/C transmission lines within Haryana, in addition to bays extension works at existing substations in Rajasthan and Haryana.
