The Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) has completed a new 132/33 kV substation in Loitoktok, Kajiado County to strengthen reliable power delivery to Merrueshi, Loitoktok, and nearby regions.
Besides the recently built Loitoktok substation, the current 132/33 kV substation in Sultan Hamud, Makueni County, will also be extended, to enhance the stability of the local power grid. China Aerospace Construction Group Limited is managing the construction project with funding from both the EXIM Bank of China and the Government of Kenya. The current project will solve the issues caused by the old 33 kV power line, ensuring more stable electricity supply to Kajiado County and enabling the integration of wind and solar energy in the future.
