Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Powergrid) has been declared as the successful bidder under tariff based competitive bidding process for the inter-state transmission system (ISTS) for evacuation of power from potential renewable energy zone in Khavda area of Gujarat under Phase-V (8 GW): Part A” on build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis.
The project comprises establishment of 6000 MW, ± 800kV HVDC terminals at KPS2 (Gujarat) & Nagpur (Maharashtra), ± 800kV HVDC bipole line between KPS2 & Nagpur (1200 km) traversing in the states of Gujarat and Maharashtra, LILO of Wardha – Raipur 765kV D/c line at Nagpur in Maharashtra, including supply and installation of various associated equipment/ interconnections at terminal stations.
