L&T secures several orders in Middle East, Africa under PT&D division

Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has secured new orders in the Middle East and Africa under its power transmission & distribution (PT&D) division to set up an energy management system across a national electricity network.

One major order involves a collaboration with a leading equipment manufacturer to establish Kenya’s new National System Control Centre. This facility will integrate various power generation sources, dispatch electricity based on priority, and oversee power flow across the country. The control center will be essential for Kenya’s grid stability, efficiency, and reliability, especially as more renewable energy sources and high-voltage interconnections are added. The project also includes setting up a back-up energy management system at a separate location. In the Middle East, L&T has secured additional contracts for the turnkey construction of high-voltage transmission lines in Saudi Arabia. In Qatar, it has received more orders for gas insulated substations as part of an ongoing power system expansion project.
