STMicroelectronics and ENGIE ink renewable energy deal in Malaysia

STMicroelectronics has signed a power purchase agreement with BKH Solar for 21 years.

This agreement enables the company to source approximately 50 GWh of renewable energy annually from a new solar farm in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah, Malaysia, under Malaysia’s Corporate Green Power Program initiated by the Malaysian Single Buyer in 2023. The energy supplied through this agreement will support ST’s 2027 goals of achieving carbon neutrality and 100 per cent renewable energy sourcing for its operations. The new solar farm will contribute significantly to ST’s environmental commitments, especially at its high-volume test and assembly facility in Malaysia.
