Chinese company Power Construction Corporation of China, branded as PowerChina, has officially handed over the 500 kV Thung Song substation project to Thailand’s Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand after passing the site acceptance tests by the latter.
The project facility, which is located in Nakhon Si Thammarat, southern Thailand, is pivotal for enhancing grid transmission capacity and ensuring stable power operations in the region, thereby supporting industrial growth and improving the quality of life for residents. The project involved the renovation and expansion of an existing 230 kV air insulated switchgear substation, as well as the construction of a new 500 kV gas insulated switchgear substation.
