EKA Mobility has secured an order from the Nagpur Municipal Corporation for 250 electric buses. The contract for this service was awarded to Hansa Vahan India Private Limited, formerly known as Hansa Travels, which has partnered with EKA Mobility. EKA Mobility will manufacture and supply the 12-metre air-conditioned electric buses to Hansa Travels. The company will also manage an annual maintenance contract for the entire duration of the operation. Each bus can seat 41 passengers and accommodate an additional 24 standing commuters. The new fleet will operate on major routes throughout the city, improving the quality of public transport while significantly reducing operational costs and emissions.
