Reportedly, Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) to supply 559 MW of power—359 MW from the 800 MW Durgapur Thermal Power Expansion Project in West Bengal and 200 MW from the 2×800 MW Koderma Thermal Power Expansion Project in Jharkhand.
The Durgapur project, located in Bardhaman district, is an expansion of the retired Durgapur Steel Thermal Power Project, while the Koderma project, in Gumla district, involves adding Units III and IV to the existing 1,000 MW plant, which includes earlier units commissioned in 2011 and 2013.
