NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, and the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) have signed a joint venture (JV) agreement to develop renewable energy and green hydrogen projects in Andhra Pradesh.
The partnership will focus on establishing 25 GW of renewable energy capacity, producing 0.5 million metric tonnes per annum of green hydrogen and derivatives, and developing 10 GW of pumped storage projects. This initiative is expected to attract Rs 2 trillion in investment to the state and generate significant employment opportunities, aligning with India’s goals of transitioning to clean and sustainable energy sources.
