The Ministry of Power (MoP) has launched NTPC’s green hydrogen buses in Leh.
The Green Hydrogen Mobility Project at Leh comprises in-situ 1.7 MW solar plant, green hydrogen filling station of capacity 80 kg per day and five hydrogen intra-city buses. Each bus can cover 300 km per single filling of hydrogen of 25 kg. Operating at an altitude of 3,650 meters, the project is designed to cut carbon emissions by 350 tonnes annually, produce 230 tonnes of oxygen, and enhance energy self-sufficiency in Ladakh by utilising the region’s abundant solar energy.
