Alfanar Projects and SEC ink SAR20 billion contracts to drive Saudi Vision 2030

Alfanar Projects has signed contracts with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), valued at over SAR20 billion, making a major step forward in developing Saudi Arabia’s energy sector.

These agreements, formalised at the Energy Localisation Forum hosted by the Ministry of Energy, highlight the country’s dedication to sustainable energy infrastructure and self-reliance. The deals focus on various transformative projects, with a major emphasis on developing the largest high voltage direct current converter station in the Middle East and North Africa in collaboration with China Electric Power Equipment and Technology Company. This plan aims to link Saudi Arabia’s central, western, and southern areas with a 7 GW power transmission capability. More projects include implementing battery energy storage system, building smart distribution centres in the western and southern areas, and connecting renewable energy plants to the national grid.
