The Government of the Philippines has commenced the USD3.4 billion MTerra solar project in Nueva Ecija and Bulacan in the Philippines.
The project aims to generate 4,500 MWh of energy and power 2.4 million homes by 2027. The project is a collaboration between Terra Solar Philippines, Meralco, MGEN, and SP New Energy Corporation. The project’s capacity to cut over 4.3 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually, equates to removing 3 million cars from roads. The first phase will launch by March 2026, aligning with the national target of 35 per cent renewable energy in the power mix by 2030.
