Reportedly, Sembcorp Green Infra Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries, has received a letter of award (LoA) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for a 150 MW solar photovoltaic project paired with a 300 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) under the inter-state transmission system segment. The project is part of SECI’s 2 GW tender for solar power projects with 4 GWh of BESS capacity and will follow a build-own-operate model. It will supply electricity to SECI under a 25-year long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) once signed. The project is expected to become operational within 24 months of signing the PPA and will be funded through a mix of internal funds and debt.
