Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has declared the results of its Tranche XVIII auction for 1 GW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar power projects.
Three companies were awarded a total of 600 MW capacity. ReNew Solar Power secured 250 MW at a tariff of Rs 3.04 per kWh, ACME Solar Holdings won 300 MW at Rs 3.05 per kWh, and Adani Renewable Energy Holdings Twelve (Adani Green Energy Limited) was allocated 50 MW at Rs 3.10 per kWh. The tender, issued in September 2024, allowed bids ranging from 50 MW to 500 MW per bidder. The projects could either be co-located or spread across multiple sites, with connections to the ISTS network at different substations. SECI has mandated a minimum capacity of 50 MW for the first phase of commissioning, and all projects must use modules from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.
