Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Powergrid) and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (RVPN) have jointly incorporated Rajasthan Power Grid Transmission Company Limited (RPGTCL), a special purpose vehicle for the development of an intra-state transmission system in Rajasthan.
Powergrid holds a 74 per cent equity share, while RVPN holds 26 per cent equity share in the joint venture. The incorporation of RPGTCL was approved by the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management. The company was officially incorporated with a paid-up capital of Rs 500,000.
