Bharti Airtel Limited has acquired a 26 per cent equity stake in AMP Energy Green Three Private Limited, a special purpose vehicle of AMP Energy Green Private Limited, for Rs 378.9 million.
AMP Energy Green Three is developing a 50 MW hybrid wind-solar power plant in Jodh Singh Ka Gaon, Barmer, Rajasthan. The plant will be connected to the 220 kV Fatehgarh substation of Powergrid Corporation of India Limited and will supply green power to industries via the interstate network for captive consumption. The acquisition complies with regulatory requirements under the Electricity Act, 2003, and the Indian Electricity Rules, 2005, enabling cost-effective renewable energy procurement.
