Reportedly, the Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency (TREDA) is set to install over 10,000 solar-powered pumps in rural areas to ensure reliable irrigation for farmers under the PM KUSUM scheme.
So far, TREDA has installed 3,616 solar pumps, providing assured irrigation to 7,232 acres of farmland and benefiting 3,616 small-scale farmers. The work is ongoing to install 5,051 more pumps, and steps have been taken to set up an additional 2,264 pumps as quickly as possible.
