NHPC Limited and Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited (APGENCO) have formed a joint venture (JV) to develop a 5.07 GW pumped storage project (PSP) across five locations in Andhra Pradesh.
The JV will undertake planning, investigation, research, design, and preparation of feasibility and detailed project reports for the projects. It will also focus on the construction, generation, operation, and maintenance of power stations and the sale of power generated from the projects. The initial projects under this JV include Yaganti PSP (1,000 MW), Rajupalem PSP (800 MW), Gadikota PSP (1,200 MW), Aravetipalli PSP (1,320 MW), and Deenepalli PSP (750 MW). Additionally, the JV aims to support integrated and efficient development of renewable energy projects, including solar, floating solar, and wind energy, in Andhra Pradesh.
