THDC India Limited has announced the commencement of the commercial operation date (CoD) for Unit 1, a 660 MW capacity, at the Khurja Super Thermal Power Plant (KSTPP), Stage-I (2×660 MW).
With this milestone, THDC has marked a significant achievement in diversifying from its traditional hydropower operations into the thermal power sector. The project is set to supply electricity to Uttar Pradesh (64.7 per cent), Rajasthan (21.3 per cent), Uttarakhand (3.9 per cent), and unallocated regions (10.1 per cent). Additionally, the plant integrates a flue gas de-sulphurisation system to control emissions, contributing to improved air quality.
