The Telangana government has planned to invest in development of the Seli Hydro electric project (HEP) and the Miyar HEP in Himachal Pradesh.
Further, Telangana government submitted a letter expressing interest and requested a draft memorandum of understanding from Himachal Pradesh government for the same. The Seli (400 MW) and Miyar (120 MW) HEPs are run of river (RoR) projects located in Chenab Basin at Lahaul and Spiti districts in the state of Himachal Pradesh entailing an investment of Rs 28.92 billion and Rs 11.25 billion, respectively. These are expected to be developed on build, own, operate and transfer basis.
