Vietnam Electricity National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) – a subsidiary of state utility Vietnam Electricity (EVN), in collaboration with the Northern Power Project Management Board – a unit of EVNNPT, has successfully energised the 220 kV Hai Duong–Pho Noi transmission line project. The project involved the construction of 56 km of 220 kV transmission lines across 180 towers between the Hai Duong and Hung Yen provinces. It connects several areas including Kinh Mon town; Thanh Ha, Tu Ky, Gia Loc, and Cam Giang districts in Hai Duong province; and parts of Bac Ninh and Hung Yen provinces. It included constructing a 220 kV line with four circuits connecting Hai Duong thermal power plant (TPP) to the existing 220 kV Pha Lai TPP–Hai Duong 2 D/C line, as well as a 220 kV D/C line from the Hai Duong TPP to the existing 500/220 kV Pho Noi substation, where two 220 kV equipment compartments were expanded. Vietnam Electricity Construction Joint Stock Corporation and Chongqing International Construction Corporation were the appointed contractors for the project. Construction on the line commenced in 2022 and the project involved a total investment of more than VND687 billion.
