The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Madhya Pradesh government to develop a 200 MW solar project in Dhar and a 1,000 MWh battery energy storage (BESS) project.
The 200 MW solar project is part of a broader 500 MW agreement with MP Power Management Company Limited. The contract was signed in 2023 for supplying power for a period of 25 years. Under this arrangement, SECI will provide renewable electricity to Madhya Pradesh , contributing to the state’s clean energy transition objectives. Additionally, SECI has proposed a phase-wise capital investment of Rs 25 billion for the development of solar and storage projects in the region.
