Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has successfully commissioned 13 new 132 kV substations in 2024, adding a total conversion capacity of 1,950 MVA to the power grid. To integrate these substations into the main transmission network, DEWA installed 127 km of underground cables. The total investment in completed and ongoing 132 kV transmission projects for 2024 reached AED2.1 billion. These newly operational substations cater to both new residential communities and urban districts, including Al Athbah, Nadd Hessa, Al Khawaneej 2, Wadi Al Amardi, Al Aweer, Al Thanyah 3, Al Barsha South 4, International City Phase 2, Wadi Al Safa 5, Umm Suqeim 3, Al Hebiah 5, and Jebel Ali Industrial First.
