Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received a letter of intent (LoI) from Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) package of the 1×800 MW Ukai thermal power station extension unit-7 in Tapi district, Gujarat.
The scope of work includes the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the boiler, turbine, generator, and associated auxiliaries, along with electrical, control & instrumentation, and balance of plant packages. Additionally, the contract covers erection & commissioning works and associated civil works. The project was awarded through international competitive bidding, with an estimated contract value of approximately Rs 75 billion. The execution timeline for the commercial operation is set at 54 months.
