Airstream Renewables gains DOE backing for 8 renewable projects in the Philippines

Airstream Renewables Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of NexGen Energy Corporation has secured the endorsement of the Philippine department of energy (DOE) for eight renewable energy projects. These projects, comprising offshore and onshore wind farms across multiple regions, have been forwarded to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) for system impact studies to assess their integration into the national grid. The largest developments include the 300 MW Sebaste Offshore Wind Farm in Antique and Aklan, along with multiple 100 MW offshore wind farms in Camarines Norte, Quezon, Bataan, and Negros Oriental. Other projects include the 60 MW Sambong onshore wind farm in Batangas and the 30 MW Dapdap east wind farm. The DOE’s endorsement aligns with its strategy to increase renewable energy capacity, having approved 24 projects for NGCP evaluation as of February 2025.
