The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has confirmed that its supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) project, funded by the World Bank, has reached 69 per cent completion and is expected to be fully operational within six months.
Once implemented, the SCADA system will significantly improve real-time monitoring, control, and efficiency of the national power grid. The SCADA project is being implemented under the World Bank-funded Nigeria Electricity Transmission Access Project, which has allocated USD486 million for power infrastructure enhancements. As part of the initiative, TCN has deployed USD56 million toward the SCADA system to automate and modernise grid management.
