MSIL to invest Rs 9.25 billion in solar energy expansion by 2030-31

Reportedly, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) is set to invest over Rs 9.25 billion by fiscal year 2031 to expand its solar power capacity to 319 MWp as part of its long-term renewable energy strategy.

The company recently commissioned two new solar power projects: a 20 MWp plant at its Kharkhoda facility in Haryana and a 10 MWp expansion at its Manesar plant, increasing its total installed solar capacity from 49 MWp to 79 MWp. Maruti Suzuki aims to meet 85 percent of its energy requirements through renewable sources by 2031.
