A chartered accountant by background, Alok Garodia began his entrepreneurial career in 1992 as founder of the Frontech brand, establishing it as an IT peripheral business in India. In 2009, seeing the potential in sustainable energy, he guided Jupiter into solar manufacturing. They began with a 32 MW solar photovoltaic cell facility, and have significantly scaled operations since. Today, their manufacturing capacity is 1 GW.
Currently, as managing director of Jupiter International Limited, his primary focus lies in steering Jupiter’s overall strategic direction. He also actively oversees operations; streamlines processes, cost-efficiency and strategic business planning; and develops high-performing teams to help solidify Jupiter’s position in the solar cell market in India.
One of his most memorable assignments was the transformation of Jupiter’s multicrystalline plant into a mono passivated emitter and rear cell facility, commissioned in March 2025 – all within six and a half months. What made this project truly stand out was not just the scale of the transition, but the intensity, precision and speed with which it was executed. Every department, from engineering and procurement to operations and quality control, moved in perfect sync, driven by a shared vision to push technological boundaries.
Garodia describe his management style as empowering, collaborative and focused on achieving engineering excellence.
He believes strongly in empowering individuals at every level, encouraging HODs and team members alike to take ownership, make informed decisions and actively contribute to Jupiter’s growth. Fostering a highly collaborative environment where cross-functional input is genuinely valued is key to how he operates.
Garodia maintains a deep focus on engineering excellence, constantly driving his teams to adopt best practices and raise the bar in technological precision and process discipline. Equally important to him is nurturing strong relationships, both within the organisation and with external partners.
He believes that mutual trust, open communication and respect are the foundations of sustainable growth and long-term success.
His ambition is to establish Jupiter as a unique organisation offering incomparable products and services in its sector.
Garodia has completed his B.Com from the University of Calcutta.
