The Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC) has issued a draft procedure under the Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (Rajasthan Electricity Grid Code) Regulations, 2024 for granting connectivity to the intra-state transmission system.
The procedure lays out the technical, commercial, and regulatory framework for grid connectivity at 33 kV and above for various entities, including generating companies, captive plants, energy storage systems, renewable energy projects, transmission licensees, and open access consumers. Key provisions include power injection limits, bay charges of Rs 250,00 per MW or actual cost (whichever is higher), availability based tariff-compliant metering, and compliance with Central Electricity Authority standards. The procedure also clarifies that grid connectivity does not confer scheduling rights, which must be obtained separately under applicable open access regulations.
