PEKB coal mine achieves energy self-sufficiency through solar power

The Parsa East and Kanta Basan (PEKB) coal mine in Surguja, Chhattisgarh has become the state’s first coal mine and among the first in India to achieve complete energy self-sufficiency through solar power.

Mundra Solar Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Green Energy Limited, has been commissioned to power the mine’s internal operations through a 9 MW solar power plant. It is spread over 30 acres of reclaimed mine land.
