NLC India Renewables Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited, has received a letter of award (LoA) from Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation Limited for the development of three standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) projects with a cumulative capacity of 250 MW / 500 MWh.
These projects mark the first large-scale BESS initiative by the group and are designed to support two full cycles of charging and discharging per day for on-demand usage. The projects will be developed under the build-own-operate model with viability gap funding support under the state component and will be located at 400/230/110 kV substations in Ottapidaram, Anuppankulam, and Kayathar in Tamil Nadu. The award was secured through a competitive bidding process.
