Reportedly, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL), in collaboration with Japan-based Nissin Electric Limited, has commissioned a micro substation under Japan’s New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) demonstration project on energy efficiency technologies.
The initiative is part of the International Demonstration Project on Japan’s energy efficiency technologies. Prior to this, NEDO had signed a letter of intent with Power Finance Corporation Limited. The micro substation aims to supply electricity to areas where transmission infrastructure exists but grid access is underdeveloped. It employs pole-mounted voltage transformer technology to convert high-voltage power directly from transmission lines to low-voltage power.
