Adani Power acquires 600 MW VIPL project after final implementation completion from NCLT

Adani Power Limited has completed the acquisition of Vidarbha Industries Power Limited (VIPL), a 2×300 MW domestic coal-fired power plant located in Butibori, Nagpur district, Maharashtra for Rs 40 billion.

The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) had approved APL’s resolution plan on June  2025 and the implementation has completed on July 2025. The company is further augmenting its base load power generation portfolio through a combination of brownfield and greenfield ultra supercritical thermal power projects (USCTPP). It is currently constructing six brownfield USCTPPs of 1,600 MW each across existing sites at Singrauli-Mahan in Madhya Pradesh, Raipur, Raigarh, and Korba in Chhattisgarh and Kawai in Rajasthan in addition to a greenfield 1,600 MW USCTPP at Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh.
