BCCL restarts PB coal mine under MDO model

Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL), has restarted coal production at its legacy PB Project in Jharkhand under the mine developer and operator (MDO) model. The project was awarded to Eagle Infra India Limited for a 25-year term and is expected to produce 52 million tonnes of coal, primarily coking coal across its lifecycle, supporting the steel and infrastructure sectors. This is the first operational MDO project in the CIL ecosystem. The project follows a revenue-sharing model, under which BCCL will receive 6 per cent of gross revenue.
