REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has signed the project implementation agency (PIA) and distribution development fund agreements for the rollout of 3.32 million smart prepaid meters under phase II of the revamped distribution sector scheme (RDSS) in the Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited area.
The project will be implemented on a design build finance own operate transfer basis. RECPDCL also signed the advanced metering infrastructure service provider contract with Bharat Grid Private Limited, a joint venture between Actis and EDF India. The initiative aims to reduce technical and commercial losses, enhance consumer engagement, and improve distribution efficiency.
