Vietnam Electricity (EVN) has installed the 585-tonne rotor for unit 1 of the Hoa Binh hydropower plant expansion project.
The rotor is a critical rotating component of the generator, and its installation marks a key milestone in the turbine-generator assembly process. According to EVN, the procedure required precise and synchronised coordination between construction, supervision, and electromechanical installation teams. The development lays the groundwork for upcoming electromechanical installations, testing, and commissioning activities, which will enable unit 1 to begin electricity generation.
